My original Le Chemineau. Acquired in 1956 and purchased used.
Le Chemineau bicycles were made in France by Joanny Panel who designed the derailleur in 1911 and used it exclusively on his bicycles. It is an indexed shifting system. The bicycles were made in St Etienne until the late fifties, and imported only by James Armando, a former Olympic bicycle racer who lived in Hartford, Connecticut. I would like to hear from other Le Chemineau owners and publish pictures of their bikes.

Another fifties Le Chemineau. This one with a racing design. It has close ratio gears, tubular tires and a racing style handlebar.
